5 Ideas to Make Lockdown More Exciting

Life in lockdown can really feel like Groundhog Day. Especially in the winter when we feel more restricted to the house.

We basically eat, sleep, save lives, repeat (and survive home school and work)!

The novelty of baking, art & crafts, Zoom calls, game night’s and DIY is wearing off.  So, as a family, we try to do one different thing each week to keep things fresh!

Here are 5 Fun ideas…

1) Patio Camp Fire 🔥

This could be done anywhere, even indoors. Just grab some chairs, blankets and marshmallows for toasting!

Nintendo Switch optional!!

2) Catch the Sunrise 🌅

We love a good sunrise and at this time of year, you can get up a little later without missing it!

3) Date Night 🍽

Make nice food, get out your best dinner sets, get dressed up and play dinner music. If you have kids, they will enjoy crafting some play food, designing menus and helping to prep and serve!

4) Make Dens

Whether you’re in the woods, or cosied up at home, dens are always a winner!!  Indoor dens, with blankets, teddies, fairy lights, cushions and snuggles, are just perfect on these cold nights!

In fact, the hike to find dens is just as fun!

5) Glo Stick Party 🥳

Parents, pop your kids in a bath filled with glo-sticks with party music playing and if you can, lights out! Or if you want to take part, try taping the glo-sticks to your clothes, turn out the lights and boogie like rainbow skeletons 😄 why not make a fun TikTok video while you are at it?

Keeping things feeling different, will really help to get through this wintery lockdown.

Just one new thing a week is enough for us as we still need time to get through work, school and home commitments, but the more you can fit in, the better!
